Right now this is just a small collection of the work that I've done over the last four years. This web site will expand into something fantastic. I can tell you a little about myself. My name is Veronica Eckl. I'm twenty-three and I've gone to school for four years to get my Bachelor's in Fine Arts. I was born and raised in the Chicago-land area. I've always had interest in design, especially typography. I used to watch my mother hand-paint large letters for different signs. I also enjoy creating iconic concepts for ideas. My taste in design differs widely depending on the project and the date, but I love metaphors, and I love looking at all the different ways to layer ideas: synecdoche, metonymies, etc. I have a knack for creating hierarchies of information and stacking typography. I can also work on lots of projects at once without getting frustrated.

logo : When I first started doing sketches of my logo, it became a renaissance type diagram of the miniscule "v" and the majuscule "e," even though I liked the style, it didn't reflect my aspirations and ambitions. The more I began to explore the possibilities; I realized how fascinated I had been with the asterisk. It represents many things, the stars, the character that must be replaced when renaming a file on a PC, and a typographic symbol with deep roots. I put it between my initials to represent the freedom in my design. The possibilities, no matter how many boundaries we are constricted by, are endless. Finding the right idea—well—that's a little bit harder. Once it's out there, all someone has to do is grab it and refine it.
